Creativity captured

A startup creative agency, StyleKandi, opened its doors and needed images to showcase its abilities. The location chosen was the Enhance beauty salon in Angel, London. In rapid succession I photographed three models, pampered by a team of wardrobe and hair stylists and makeup artists.

All-in-all we had eight people on set, which can be a little chaotic at times, but with well experienced professionals who all know what they’re doing it all progressed smoothly.

Lighting in these spaces can be tricky at times, with a lot of spotlights and colour cast interference, so positioning of models and lights is highly important.

My trusted Lastolite EzyBox and Canon 580EX II did a good job again, delivering just enough definition and shadows to provide flattering light to highlight the team’s creative skills. An added bonus is that the kit doesn’t take up much space, which is great when working in a busy salon.
